Anal Training Sets and Dilators: How to Choose and Progress

A training set is a group of toys in gradually increasing sizes. Instead of choosing one size and hoping it fits, you start at the smallest and move up only when the current size feels easy.

Why use a set?

The set takes the guesswork out of sizing, and the small steps are more comfortable than jumping to a large toy. They suit people who want to build up gradually.

What to look for

  • Flared base on every piece, so nothing slips inside.
  • Body-safe material, usually silicone, see body-safe materials.
  • Realistic steps. Small increases are easier than big jumps.

How to progress

  1. Start with the smallest piece and plenty of thick water-based lube.
  2. Go slowly, breathe, and stop if there is pain.
  3. Stay at one size until it feels easy and comfortable, which may take several sessions.
  4. Only then try the next size.

There is no deadline. Pushing faster than your body is ready for is the main reason people get discouraged.

Cleaning and storage

Wash after every use and dry fully, see how to clean your toys. Store the pieces separately.
